My name is Allakrea Condon and I grew up in Greater Vancouver. I attended Simon Fraser University, studying Mathematics, French, and Education. During my studies I also completed a co-op placement teaching English at a high school in France.
I began tutoring secondary math while I was in 12th grade. In university I had the opportunity to volunteer at Sullivan Heights Secondary School in Surrey, BC where I worked with grade 8 students who were struggling with math. In this program we taught students the concepts they needed to upgrade their skills to a higher grade level. For the past 10 years I have continued to tutor privately, and in 2023 I made the decision to launch ARC Tutoring as my full-time career.
The reason I fell in love with tutoring is because of the satisfaction I gain when I see my students succeed. My philosophy when teaching is to recognize each student’s individual needs and collaborate with them on their journey. I check in with my students frequently to make sure that we are only moving on to new concepts when they fully understand the foundations. Communication with both parents and students ensures we are building a plan for success together.
